‘It’s not difficult being gay in Salt Lake City. I’ve had a few instances where people have yelled at me or said demeaning things, but on the whole, Salt Lake City is really a great place. We have an awesome LGBT community. Even if there’s a rift between gay and non-gay here, everyone deserves acceptance. We need bridgebuilders…we’re all people regardless of sexuality or whoever we are. I think Salt Lake City is progressive, people-wise. I just went to the movies with a guy and we held hands through the whole movie and nobody said a word. It’s really cool that I actually can go on a date with a guy and hold hands in public. That’s just one little thing we ask for…and it’s wonderful.’
