‘When he left me, I thought I was never going to figure out how to get on with my life. Before he left, I didn’t know anything about paying our bills and stuff. I’d never had to mess with any of that because he’d always taken care of it. I guess he got tired or bored and thought he would be happier somewhere else. Then, I found out that he had hepatitis and I figured he didn’t want to make me get it. Even though there was a lot of selfishness in his leaving me, I guess there was still something unselfish about him, too. I think a person can leave someone but still love them and even the person being left behind can still love the leaver. On the bright side, well, I’ve learned how to do what I have to do and I’m going to be just fine.’
