‘I’m from South Sudan…it’s in East Africa bordered with Uganda, Ethiopia, and Congo. I came to the United States in 2001 as a refugee and I’ve been living here in Salt Lake City for fifteen years. When I was a little boy, we’d go hunting. We’d train dogs to catch wild animals, like antelope, to have meat. I remember that well. South Sudan is a beautiful country with beautiful people. But they are at war right now and people there are dying. I need there to be peace in my country so the people there can have the good lives they used to enjoy.’
