‘I am from Burma…I’m an ethnic Rohingya. The Burmese government doesn’t want Rohingya people. They made our lives very difficult. We couldn’t own land or marry. So, we came to the United States to work hard and to be free, to be what we are, to believe what we believe. There are a lot of Rohingya people here and we’re happy to be free. We miss our country, but that is just geography. Salt Lake City is a good place and I would rather be in a good place and miss my country than be unhappy and afraid at home.’
